Does Alinta Energy offer solar plans?
Alinta Energy does not sell or install solar panels, nor does it provide an electricity plan with a premium solar feed-in tariff.
However, Alinta offers a standard solar feed-in tariff on all its electricity plans. This is available to households with solar PV systems that wish to export solar energy back to the grid.
If you've installed solar panels, whether through Alinta Energy or another provider, you may be eligible for a feed-in tariff for exporting excess power to the grid.
Alinta Energy Rewards
Several energy providers offer rewards and membership programs, including Alinta Energy.
Alinta Energy provides its electricity and gas customers access to Alinta Rewards, which can be redeemed for various discounts:
- Movie tickets
- Theme parks
- Zoos & attractions
- Luna Park
- Shopping
- Electronics
Unlike some other programs, Alinta Rewards focuses on fun experiences and activities rather than everyday essentials like groceries or fuel.
This means that while you might save if you frequently visit cinemas, theme parks, or zoos, you might not see significant savings on your monthly budget.
Billing information
Alinta provides SmoothPay, a convenient option for automated instalment payments that differ from your quarterly bill. This service allows you to spread your bill's cost over regular recurring payments, which can be scheduled weekly, fortnightly, or monthly.
You can still view your bills every three months to monitor your electricity usage. To set up SmoothPay, you'll need to contact Alinta.
One of the advantages of choosing a large retailer like Alinta Energy is the variety of payment options available. Alinta Energy customers can pay their bills using any of the following methods:
- Online: Visit the Alinta Energy website to pay your bill using MasterCard, VISA, or American Express.
- BPAY: Log in to your online bank account, select BPAY, and enter the biller code and reference number from your bill.
- Direct Debit: Set up Direct Debit through MyAccount or by completing the online form. Alinta Energy will automatically deduct your bill amount from the nominated account each quarter.
- Phone: Pay using your credit card by contacting Alinta Energy.
- In Person: Visit the post office to pay by cash, cheque, or EFTPOS.
- Mail: Detach the 'payment options' section from your bill and mail it with a cheque to the address provided.
